Sky High Adventure Commando Course

sky-highSky High Adventure Park at Holiday Valley, as seen from Rescue Monitor trainer Brian Earley. He wears a Drift HD170 Stealth Camera on his head as he takes on the Commando Double Black Diamond Course.

The Aerial Park is a series of platforms and “bridges” built in a 4 acre section of the woods. The platforms are built in the trees and the bridges connect the platforms. The bridge may be a log, hanging chunks of wood or other obstacles or ladders and the challenge is to figure out how to get across to the next platform. It is not a strength issue; it is more strategy and balance. There are 8 courses with different levels of difficulty and the more difficult the course, the higher up it is in the trees. There are 2 yellow courses, 2 greens, 2 blues, a single black diamond and a double black…The Commando! All courses have at least one zip line and some have several. Everyone wears a harness with a special locking lanyard that safeguards you from falling if you slip or let go. Children must be at least 7 years old, and all guests must be able to perform certain physical tasks to participate. There is a weight limit of 250 pounds.

Terrain Park Crew gets busy with the Drift HD170

The Terrain Park crew at Holiday Valley in New York is putting the Drift HD170 through all the tests. In preparation for an upcoming Eastern Snowboard League Series event. On January 15, the resort will host the first stop in the series. The Eastern Snowboard League will feature three events, in which competitors can accumulate points towards the overall standings in three different divisions. MyPOV360.com will be capturing all the action of each event with the Drift HD170, the most modern point-of-view hi-def camera in the winter sports market. Featuring an LCD screen, wireless remote control, and now a longer life spare battery accessory to double the unit’s recording time in colder conditions, the Drift HD170 is the Eastern Snowboarding League’s premium choice for a helmet camera.

Flying Low with the Drift HD170 action camera

Flying Low with the Drift HD170 action camera attached to small plane. The tail POV camera was mounted using a Pedco Ultra clamp, and the second camera was hand held inside the airplane cockpit. The plane can fly with it’s windows open, but holding the camera steady outside the craft is not easy. Only when we slowed down for landing did I dare stick it out the window completely.

Airplane is a Husky. Made for bush flying and off airport operations. It cruises about 130 MPH and will take off and land in and out of a 600′ strip. Access areas that will take your breath away in a Husky. Its rugged, handcrafted construction, wide-field visibility and tandem seating create an extremely comfortable and secure environment for safely flying into places other planes simply can’t.
