GoPro packages the HeroHD with sports-specific mounting options in the HD Helmet Hero, HD Motor sports Hero and HD Surf Hero.

The GoPro HD Surf Hero series provides professional quality 1080p / 960p / 720p HD resolutions at 30 and 60 frames per second (60 fps in 720p). A rechargeable lithium battery records up to 2.5 hours on a single charge, so you can document your entire surf with a single push of the shutter button on the paddle out.

Your GoPro can also shoot 5MP photos automatically every 2 seconds while you surf. Just press the shutter button once, and you’ll capture photos during your entire surf. Other photo modes include 5 / 10 / 30 / and 60 second time lapse as well as single shot, triple shot, and self timer modes.

The adhesive base easily mounts in seconds and has a proven track record in heavy surf from Hawaii to Tahiti, Southern Mexico to Northern California. If you have an FCS™ fin plug, you can use GoPro’s patent pending camera mounting plug to allen key your HD Surf HERO into the FCS™ plug. The camera is so light, even top pros tell us they don’t notice the camera on their boards.

The HD Surf HERO is compatible with all other GoPro HERO camera mounting accessories. It’s very easy to expand the functionality of your camera with the suction cup mount for vehicles, bike clamp mount for handlebars and seat posts, helmet and goggle mounts, and even a chest mount harness for tow-in surfing.

Thanks to its removable polycarbonate housing, the GoPro HeroHD is waterproof to 180’ / 60m. The polycarbonate housing also protects your camera from rocks and other hazards.
